Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
TIG-Contract Manufacturing (TIG-CM) was formerly CCSI, Inc. (Custom Computer Solutions International) which was started in 1993 by a private individual. In 2004 Technology Integration Group (private corp. based in San Diego, CA) purchased CCSI. The purchase provided TIG with a custom computer build capability, beyond what existed within the corporation at the time. Currently TIG-CM is providing electronic, electrical, mechanical product assembly, sub-assembly builds, parts kitting, custom computers and distribution for OEM's along the Front Range and nationally.
What is your primary product or service?
TIG-CM is an independent contract manufacturer located in Louisville, Colorado. We provide complete turnkey solutions for the assembly of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic products. TIG-CM's manufacturing capability includes the manufacture of current and end-of-life products and sub-assemblies; turnkey kitting operations; finished goods and distribution management; as well as full materials management (procurement, inventory, MRP).
Additionally, TIG-CM can provide returns processing, repair and refurbishment of OEM products. Returned product "triage" (determination of new, repair or scrap) that allows companies to maximize the inventory value of returned product.
TIG-CM is an ISO 9001:2008 certified facility.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The management team at TIG-Contract Manufacturing has many years experience in Materials management and Production management, working with small, startup companies to national OEM companies.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
TIG-CM is a division of a national company that has no long term debt and the cash reserves to spend on new projects that have a positive ROI. We can fund any project that makes business sense. The management team has extensive experience in manufacturing, reverse logistics and distribution. We own our building, our overhead is low, thus we have a pricing structure that normally is very competitive. We have a record of high quality, high on-time delivery. We are not a "design house", but rather a "final box assembly" house - we do final assembly, testing and distribution.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
TIG - Contract Manufacturing is located in Louisville, Colorado. The Louisville location is the only location within TIG that does custom or branded IT equipment and other OEM services. Technology Integration Group (TIG) headquarters is in San Diego, CA. TIG has 20 offices located in major metropolitan areas in the US. TIG is a $350 million “Super VAR” providing IT equipment and a broad range of IT services to medium to large corporations and federal, state and local governmental agencies.
